Fire Festival

I saw this local festival in Ikeda, back in late August. The Kansai area has several prominent mountains with kanji (chinese characters) “written” on the side of the mountain. The kanji are illuminated with fire and festival participants parade through the streets with giant torches to bring the mountain fire through the town.
